Abstract

Shortage of supply in food and medicine due to the continuous usage of natural resources so as the harmful technologies that affects our environment. Food as the basic human needs and medicine that ease/cure illnesses and diseases; this two important matters that helps us to survive are slowly depleting. Low knowledge or degradation of local products. People nowadays, tends to rely more on foreign brands or products rather than in our own product and services that causes decrement in our economical performance. Lack of facilities and public spaces where people can relax, socialize, and entertain themselves. These are one of the problems that occurs in our nation and even in localities. That’s why A Proposed Herbal & Agricultural Center would be a good idea to solve these different kinds of problems in our community. A fact that Quezon Province is a primarily agricultural province, known as the “food basket” of CALABARZON. This proposal will be located at Lucena City. Since Lucena has great potentials of becoming the newest commercial and industrial pivot of the CALABARZON Region. So as its goal to increase agricultural productivity and to have a well organized and self-reliant farmers engaged in modern and diversified farming. Its purpose is to reintroduce the great benefits of herbal medicines for medication of different illnesses and diseases. As a partial cooperation with province’s program the “Quezon Herbal Program”, ”Farmer’s Productivity Program”, “Coconut Development Projects”, and “Organic Agriculture” . Another purpose of it is to help and give a place and opportunity for the local businessman/ entrepreneurs to promote and advertise their products; especially the products of Quezon. And also to provide a mixed-use commercial development establishment where people can learn, socialize, entertain themselves, relax, and buy high-quality local products. The beneficiaries of this proposed project are the Provincial Government of Quezon, the local businessman and entrepreneurs, and the people of Quezon Province particularly in Lucena City. In terms of funding Government agencies such as Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) can help to provide the financial needs of the proposed project. The Sentrong Pamilihan ng Produktong Agrikultura ng Quezon Foundation, Inc.(SPPAQFI) will be the proponent of the proposed project.
