Abstract

As the Corona Virus, 2019 pandemic spread through every country, teachers, and students are pushed to adjust to a new way of learning. Hence, the study aimed to explore the online-based learning experiences of nursing students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The researchers chose a mixed method and an explanatory-sequential approach to be used in executing the phenomena that will be observed in this study. 98 nursing students from Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, particularly from all levels, were chosen as the final respondents for this study using a total enumeration sampling. Furthermore, this study found that the highest factor of the level of effectiveness of online-based learning in terms of reaction is that technology helps respondents improve their academic performance in an online class. In terms of learning, the highest factor is the quality of learning and information that the respondents get from the internet and websites that help them learn the skills and training in nursing. Meanwhile, in terms of behavior, the highest factor is that respondents overcome the different challenges in online-based learning. And lastly, in terms of results, the highest factor is that respondents have enough progress during the online-based learning system as nursing students. Afterward, the results revealed that there is no significant difference in the effectiveness of an online-based learning system when grouped according to age and gender profile. The researchers recommend this study to nursing students, professors, researchers, and future researchers, to educate them and help them manage their online-based learning experiences.
