VIOLATIONS AGAINST MANDATORY COMMUNITY QUARANTINE PROTOCOLS: BASIS FOR AN IMPROVED PANDEMIC HEALTH PROTOCOLS IMPLEMENTATION GUIDELINES

Abstract

The world paused when the pandemic began in the year 2020, thus the “new normal” has already been acquainted with the people, and the implementation of a new set of rules to consider the safety of the people from the virus. Quarantine is an act of a person that confines the safety of their home to avoid the spread of a certain virus. Quarantine Protocols has been implemented in the Philippines in March 2020, this set of rules is used to keep the safety of the people. Many businesses and the regular social life of the people have been put to a halt because of this set of rules, therefore, it is inevitable for some the people to go against these protocols for a certain number of reasons, may it be for work, for business and some may be for personal reasons. This research study aimed to study the current implementation of the health preventive measures amidst the pandemic and to obtain an outcome that will improve these protocols. The researchers focused on identifying the factors that trigger the violators and the methods that can be imposed to prevent these kinds of violations. The researchers focused the study on Lucena City and the study used a purposive sampling method to select the respondents from three chosen barangays in the city which are, Brgy. Market View, Brgy. Cotta and Brgy. Dalahican. The researchers prepared a survey-questionnaires for the respondents and were distributed through online platforms.
