Comparative Crime Rate of Index and Non-index Crime in 2018 and 2019 at Lucena City

Completed2021

Abstract

Crime is a major concern for all Filipinos, particularly those who live in the country's larger urban areas. The crime rates have increased since 2009, so the police have found it difficult to maintain security and order. However, previous plans failed to completely reduce crime rates, prompting researchers to conclude that a sympathetic approach should begin within the community. Then, using the method of bringing this local knowledge into the context of the entire country, further examine it. The researchers went to the Lucena, City Police office to conduct an evaluation interview regarding the 2019 crime status quo or before the pandemic. The scope covered the index and non-index rates from that year, which were provided with general justification from the officer-in-charge of the documents in the said police station. Afterward, the invoices were coded to essentially determine the cause of criminality in certain cases. This study could help the law enforcement agency in executing the best solutions, actions, or responses to the misconducts prevailing in the city – being more knowledgeable from a wider perspective to specifics, solving the dichotomy and facets of crimes, this research is to provide great leverage for the police force to elevate their values and their purpose in the society, for each and everyone’s safety.
