Completed2021

Abstract

There are more than half a million college students that are graduating and entering the workforce yearly. While it may look impressive, the reality of this massive production of graduates is that only a few of them could find any form of employment, others would be employed in jobs where their skill sets are mismatched or few would have employees that are relevant to their actual field of study. One of the reasons for this is that some graduates lack the necessary credentials, qualifications, and skills to further on with employment. The objective of this study was to determine the level of employability of graduates in the Manuel S. Enverga University Criminology program. In that sense, determining the relation of the graduate's skills to their jobs is one of the main goals of the research, along with determining how adequate their respective program of studies is in the workplace. Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the criminology program in terms of developing highly skilled professionals and identifying other possible approaches that would be appropriate in the development of students. This study used survey questionnaires to give answers to the objectives,in which there are 50 respondents from criminology graduates of Manuel S. Enverga University batch 2016 to 2018 participated. The study concluded that the skills of criminology graduates were related to their jobs and that during their time as a student of the program, they have developed the necessary skills that are vital to their jobs. Furthermore, the program that the graduates underwent is enough to produce highly skilled professionals with its strengths and weaknesses very well addressed, therefore, a high level of employability of criminology graduates has been the result.
