Importance of Anger Management: A Key to Ethical Decision Making

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to provide a much more effective anger management program that will help the police officers to suppress and handle emotion and decisions caused by anger. It also provides strategies for mastering the control of anger in all situations. The researchers analyzed anger management among police officers. The researchers used the descriptive research method in this study to have a better knowledge about the anger management of police officers. A structured questionnaire was used as the data collection tool, which was created by the researchers and confirmed by a specialist in the field. The questionnaires were distributed to fifty (50) selected police officers in the Philippine National Police particularly Lucena City Police Station. The researchers used a random sampling technique in gathering the data. Results of the study show that anger management program is effective and useful in work scenarios particularly in dealing with anger for police officers and it must be applied to everyone to help them understand how to improve home and work by managing anger better. The results imply that anger management can prevent stigma and taking the wrong action in police work scenarios with their power of authority in promoting fair justice. The research study recommends that the Philippine National Police should create a strengthened anger management program that is accurate to the uncontrollable anger being experienced by police officers. The PNP organization should create a group that is tasked with assessing and resolving police officers' anger. The implementation of the said plan was one of the key features of these studies.
