Stereotyping of Gender Roles Within the Workplace As Perceived by Members of The Philippine National Police

Abstract
This research explored the stereotyping of gender roles. It intended to identify the stereotyping specifically in the workplace of the Philippine National Police in Lucena City. As the study concentrated on analyzing a situation, a descriptive approach explained the situation and completely comprehended the requirements for the research. The study aimed to identify the demographic profile of the respondents and identified the stereotyping gender roles in the workplace among the members of the Philippine National Police. The study also sought to classify the impact of stereotyping in the workplace.
Additionally, it aimed to determine problems encountered in stereotyping in performing their duties and responsibilities. The study utilized quantitative research. The researchers gave survey questionnaires to the members of the Philippine National Police in Lucena City regarding data gathering. A non-experimental descriptive process helped the researchers provide systematic information about the stereotyping of gender roles within their workplace. First, a survey questionnaire was used to gather the data. Then, it was performed in actual data gathering. The percentage method determined the respondents' demographic profile. At the same time, they used frequency, and the weighted mean was used for the as follows inquiries. Finally, the researchers computed, analyzed, and interpreted the sum-up of the respondent's answers to the questions. After a throughout the review of the data, the research findings are males have more participation in the study than females. The police personnel of Lucena City strongly disagreed with being affected by stereotyping. But they are affected through their perspective because of past situations of women's capacities depending on gender roles. The PNP of Lucena City has encountered minor problems in their workplace because of the concept of stereotyping of gender roles. The research output is to implement an awareness program that will discuss workplace discrimination.
