Area of Research
Abstract
1. Violence in any form must not be tolerated and should definitely come to an end or at least lessen the cases of it especially violence against women and children who always seem to be victims of domestic violence. One of the country's most pervasive societal issues appears to be violence against women (VAW). According to the Philippine Statistics Authority's 2017 National Demographic and Health Survey, one out of every four Filipino women aged 15 to 49 has been subjected to physical, emotional, or sexual violence by their husband or partner. The study aims to identify the cases handled by the Women’s Desk and assess the performance of its officers. This study used the descriptive method to come up with specific and concrete results. The implication of this study is to assess how Violence against women and children officers perform in the community and as result, the researcher drew on this recommendation; Women's Desk Officers may start crafting a program about a new hope awareness campaign so that victims of domestic violence may be able to speak up and spread awareness that domestic violence is a no laughing matter. Women's Desk Officers may also conduct investigative services to prevent further domestic abuses within the area. Women's desks in Quezon may assess first the issues and gaps that hinder the full implementation of their services and then address them to improve outcomes for the victims of domestic violence in order to promote changes. After doing so, they may broaden their horizon by reaching out to the wider public and find support from different kinds of stakeholders that have the same agenda in combating domestic violence the in area. Strengthen the collaborative strategies among social workers and police officers. There should be help desks positioned in every community. Women’s desk officers can also assign a team to perform door-to-door visitation to those subjects of VAWC in order to directly monitor them. Consistency is a key factor to secure the effectiveness of programs such as this. However, with a lack of manpower, it can be a problem. Women’s desks must recruit more people that are delegated with a specific task. There should be incentives given to motivate them from performing their jobs adequately. This research will be a guide to conducting another study that evaluates other variables that affect their performance.
