USE OF DISPUTE RESOLUTION IN BARANGAY BINAHAAN PAGBILAO, QUEZON: IT’S ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

The study aims to determine the use of dispute resolution in Barangay Binahaan Pagbilao, Quezon: Its advantages and disadvantages. The study sought to answer the following questions: a) Determine the demographic profile of the respondents; b) Identify the effects of application of alternative dispute resolution in the administration of justice; c) Determine the advantages and disadvantages of alternative dispute resolution in the administration of justice, and identify the level of effectiveness of using Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to resolve disputes. The study was descriptive research employing a quantitative approach. The research questionnaire was distributed to 50 respondents in the community of Barangay Binahaan Pagbilao, Quezon. This study also aims to identify the benefits and drawbacks of employing dispute resolution in the Administration of Justice and whether dispute resolution is more effective than the traditional method of settling disputes and conflicts through court trials. Furthermore, the data was collated and analyzed using frequency and percentage, mean, and basic linear correlation analysis to determine the substantial influence of the independent variables on the dependent variables. According to the findings, barangay authorities and arbitrators should be prepared for emerging difficulties resulting in a community conflict to plan a solution and resolve the dispute soon.
