Assessing Maritime Students’ Satisfaction in Online Learning Approach

Abstract
This study focused on assessing the maritime students’ level of satisfaction in the online learning approach. This study aimed to enhance the online learning activities among maritime students, to solve the common problems encountered by the maritime student, to improve the student outlook and satisfaction towards online classes, and finally to help the school to put a better online learning experience into practice. This study came to the idea because of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, which proves to be a huge obstacle to higher education. This study aims to improve and maintain the high-quality teaching in this new environment caused by the COVID-19 education that would still produce competitive graduates. The study used quantitative-descriptive method since the study is about assessing the satisfaction of maritime students. The researchers used the questionnaire as the research instrument to get the data in this study. The respondents of the study were maritime students either male or female. The research questionnaires were given only to the student who are currently enrolled in flexible learning. After distributing the questionnaires, the data were gathered. The data were analyzed, and the researchers provided the outcome of the result. The research results show that the majority of the students are satisfied with the current online learning approach that they are taking even with all the problems that they encountered. With this, the researchers concluded that the student can still manage to cope and comply with the requirements provided to them considering the situation they are into right now amidst the pandemic and further adjustments with the newly implemented online learning system. The researchers recommend for a possible output that could assist the current and future students, future researchers, and readers.
