ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET OF MILLENNIALS IN THE 2ND DISTRICT OF QUEZON PROVINCE: BASIS FOR CREATING ENTREPRENEURIAL GUIDE

Abstract

This study aims to determine the entrepreneurial mindset of millennial entrepreneurs in the 2nd district of Quezon province. The result of the study is used as a guide for millennial entrepreneurs to improve their entrepreneurial mindset. Participants of the study are millennial entrepreneurs in the 2nd District of Quezon province. Data are gathered through a survey questionnaire, which eventually aids the researcher in seeking out the respondents' demographic profile, including their gender, age, and educational attainment. In assessing the entrepreneurial mindset, Naumann’s Core Attributes of Entrepreneurial Mindset was used. Naumann’s Core Attributes include cognitive tuning and goal orientation, heuristic-based decision logic, alertness, prior knowledge, and social interaction. On the other hand, the millennial entrepreneurs’ mindset was evaluated through Mencarelli’s Forma Mentis, which aims to analyze the entrepreneurial mindset through five dimensions: responsibility, autonomy, will, initiative and problem-solving spirit, and ability to manage functional relationships with others. Determining the entrepreneurial mindset can guide millennial entrepreneurs’ actions towards creating purpose and sustainable development, especially since the Philippines has the highest societal perception of entrepreneurship as a good career choice among South East Asia. This research can aid millennial Filipinos to identify their level of an entrepreneurial mindset to obtain human development, competitiveness, economic growth, and social advancement.
