The Academic Performance and Licensure Examination of Nursing Graduates: A Correlational Study

Abstract
The main thrust of the study is to determine the correlation of academic performance in the professional nursing subjects and the licensure examination results to serve as an avenue in strengthening identified weak areas in the nursing program. The study utilized a Descriptive Correlation type of research with the use of documentary analysis as a tool for data gathering of the graduates from the years 2012-2016. Majority of the nursing graduates demonstrated an average to high average performance in terms of their academics in their professional courses. In the same manner these batch of graduates performed satisfactory too, however, they showed low ratings in the NP II ,III,IV. Based on the results, academic performances are positively correlated with the Nurse Licensure Examination and can be considered good predictors of success of the latter.
