ASSESSMENT PRACTICES USED BY KINDERGARTEN TEACHERS OF POLILLO AND BURDEOS DISTRICTS
Abstract
The research determined the assessment practices in Kindergarten of Polillo District and Burdeos District during the S.Y 2019-2020. Specifically, the study sought to investigate the (1) demographic profile of the respondents; (2) commonly used assessment practices, (3) the level of effectiveness of the assessment tool and (4) the significant difference between the assessment use by Kindergarten teachers in Polillo and Burdeos District. The final output of the study is an assessment tool in kindergarten. The respondents of the study are the 22 Kindergarten Teachers from Polillo District and 17 Kindergarten Teachers in Burdeos District. The descriptive-survey method was utilized to ascertain significant difference among assessment practices of Kindergarten Teachers in the Districts Polillo and Burdeos. Survey questionnaire was the data gathering instrument. Data were consolidated and analyzed utilizing pertinent statistical tools. Results shows Kindergarten teachers in both districts choose assessment tool that are convenient to use. Thus, the study concludes that, each can be very assessment can be very effective in evaluating children in kindergarten. the study recommends, that school administrators should provide seminars/training for Kindergarten teachers about assessment tools.
