A Modification Design of Stray Wire Collector Assembly
Area of Research
Abstract
The primary concern in PMLF- FOL wire bond stations is the shorting wire resulting in high OS failure in the bonded units caused by ASM Eagle Extreme wire bonder machine. The problem has contributed to greater concerns from customers. This study aims to reduce the frequency of high OS failure due to the stray wire. Part of the modification of the stray wire collector assembly in the wire bond system is by increasing the size of the body and inserting a hole for the automatic vacuum support using a venturi device to help the collector pull down the excess wire into the container. This modification design is using cheaper materials for the stray wire collector. Testing procedures possibly enhanced by changing the collection of stray wire from every beginning of the shift to the monthly collection.
