Tourist Destinations Used in the Setting of Philippine Movies: A Case Study

Abstract
This research on the tourist destinations used in the setting of Philippine movies a case study focused on determining the influence of film locations to the interest of tourists to visit particular places in the country. The respondents of this study only came from Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation which consists of 100 students. To find out a film’s effectiveness in motivating the interest of the respondents to become a tourist, an assessment on the level of motivation to become a tourist will be done. This research study aims to identify the awareness, interest to visit and get information, desire to visit and intention to book for a destination. The respondents revealed that they already possess a sensible degree of motivation to become tourists before watching a movie. And after watching a Philippine movie with a destination setting, the respondents’ developed a greater degree of motivation to become a tourist and to explore more. Watching a Philippine movie with a destination as setting is an effective instrument in motivating tourists as it increases the individual’s awareness, interest to visit and get information, desire to visit and intention to book.
