Abstract

Most of the homestay program is regarded as a community-based tourism product around the country. Despite the enormous growth of the homestay program, the industry faces numerous new challenges in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the pandemic hardly hit the tourism industry, accommodation such as homestays are one of the tourism products that are mainly affected. The decline of tourist arrivals in all areas of the world has forced many homestay accommodations to either permanently or temporarily close their business. Even after the COVID-19 pandemic, people will now live in a new normal setting, and businesses, particularly homestay accommodation must adapt to the new normal. The main objective of this study is to assess the preparedness of the identified homestay accommodation as a post-pandemic livelihood opportunity for the community of selected municipalities in the 1st district of Quezon Province. A descriptive research design using a quantitative approach will be employed in the study. The instrument to be used in gathering data is a survey questionnaire that will be distributed to the target respondents of the study. Moreover, the final output of the study will be a comprehensive homestay program that could be used as the guidelines of the community as a livelihood opportunity. Most of the homestay program is regarded as a community-based tourism product around the country.
