Post COVID-19: Exploring Tourists Preferences on Selected Tourism Destinations within Quezon Province

Abstract

COVID-19 has heavily influenced the tourists' choice of destination and to determine their preferences, the researchers ought to study the factors that influence the selection of tourists and their preferences on the Selected Tourism Destinations in Quezon Province. This study aims to identify the profile of the respondents, how social, economic, and environmental factors affect tourists’ choice of destinations, and the preferences of tourists on tourism destinations. This research study is guided by four theories namely Protection Motivation Theory, Butler’s Tourism Area Life Cycle, the Push & Pull Motivation Theory, and Crompton’s Socio-Psychological Motivations to Travel. The study used a descriptive research design, quantitative approach, and purposive sampling methodology to determine the preferences of tourists and analyze the factors affecting their choice of destination. The data collection is done through a survey questionnaire that is dispersed online and summed up with the use of statistical methods such as Frequency and Percentage Distribution, Mean, Standard Deviation, T-Test, and ANOVA. The respondents are purposely chosen which consist of tourists who visited Tourism in District 1 and 2 of Quezon Province. This study has shown that tourists on the post-pandemic will be cautious about the tourism destinations that they visit. Tourists preferred to visit the destinations that are capitalized in nature, quieter, and where the number of tourists is limited. The travel plan as the output of this paper will serve as a guideline that the Tourism destinations in Quezon Province could use to offer an extemporized service for the tourists.
