IMPLEMENTATION OF ANTI-BULLYING PROGRAM IN SELECTED HIGH SCHOOLS IN LUCENA CITY

Abstract
The study aimed to the explore program adopted by the school management in
increasing awareness on the Anti-Bullying Program in terms of the program itself,
classroom initiative and the involvement of parents. It also identified the problems
encountered and the effectiveness of the implementation of the Anti-Bullying Program.
To measure accurately this research, the researcher chose a quantitative research
design. Relevant information collected through questionnaires as the research
instrument because primarily it was the appropriate way to collect necessary data.
Researchers conducted this research to the selected private and public High-School in
Lucena City as a sample of the study wherein 100 respondents were chosen randomly.
Results show that using the design and instrument regarding with level of awareness in
terms of the program, classroom initiative and involvement of parents in Implementation of Anti-Bullying Program get a major response of moderately familiar. In terms of
challenges encountered in the implementation of the Anti-Bullying Program most
statement agreed by the respondents. The effectiveness of the respondents as strongly
agree. The researchers offered the following recommendations based on their findings
and conclusions: DepEd to continue or hold training programs, courses or activities for
school administrator, teachers, students, and parents enable to develop and continue to
gain more knowledge, learnings, policies and to strengthening the programs in
preventing or responding to any bullying act and to create awareness. DepEd, School
Administrator, Teachers, should have a definite program and an Anti- Bullying Center on
a specific school wherein the students consistently go through if they are a victim or the
one who insist bullying. Researchers also insist that specific Anti-Bullying Program
should integrate on a Curriculum so that it will integrate on the teacher's lesson or have
a copy of the primer on school-based child protection and anti-bullying policies being
adopted by the school. It also insists to have a pillar of strength and support on massive
campaign program about an anti-bullying program in a school enable to create a safe
school environment as well as to the extended community. Concern persons such as
school admin, teachers, students, and parents should not ignore bullying cases and
encourage intervention to a bullied victim as well as to the one who insists bullying
enable to ensure its effectiveness and to face challenges encountered in the
implementation of an anti-bullying program.
