MEDIA VIOLENCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR AMONG SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT

Abstract
The study assessed the different effects of media violence to the students.
This research identified whether media such as television and film/movie violence
influenced the respondents to develop aggressive behavior. This focused on the
nature of aggressive behavior to the students. This research used descriptive
survey and conducted in different high school in Lucena City. The respondents were
the selected senior high school students who have watched different violent films
movies. Results show that the violence in media can be a source of negative
behavior to the respondent. Aggressive behavior is caused of different factors such
as the environment, internal and external forces. With these findings, the
researchers proposed that parents and school shall have active participation in
guiding the students to their media exposures. The active participation and support
of the parents to their children can control the behavior of them from the anti-social,
and other behavioral changes that will happen after watching violence in media.School shall provide also some seminars in setting up awareness in the effects of
media to the students.
