FACEBOOK AS A STRATEGY OF POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS

The study aimed to determine facebook as a strategy of police-community relations and its effectiveness in reaching out to the community through the use of Facebook as a communication strategy and tool, and to the programs and activities of PNP Lucena on their police-community relations. The researchers conducted a quantitative type of research method with the use of a questionnaire as a tool in gathering data. The researchers distributed the research instrument and clarified the answers of the respondents. Results reveal that the programs and activities of PNP Lucena in their police-community relations strategy help in making good quality of work which is visible to the public. The researchers had to make good sense in recognizing the Facebook as source of information to the people. Information that enhancing the people’s skills to be knowledgeable especially in crimes in this country. From this data, the researchers concluded that, police officers to gain more public trust which leads to having an effective police-community relations by using Facebook as a strategy and tool for communication.
