HEIGHT REQUIREMENT: ITS IMPORTANCE IN PERFORMING POLICE DUTY

The importance of physical characteristics is rarely addressed in the literature on professional competence and authority. In police work, it is almost taken for granted that height is advantageous in police work, despite a lack of research on the topic. This study focused on determining and analyzing the importance of height in performing police duties. The researcher used quantitative approach in order to collect accurate data. The researchers distributed questionnaires to the chosen respondents. One hundred (100) police officers answered the questionnaires in the Quezon Province. The researchers provided a request letter for validation of research instrument, transmittal letter for the respondent and a request to conduct the study addressed to PNP director of Quezon Province. The study revealed that height doesn?t affect the performance of a police officer when performing their duties and they can perform effectively their responsibilities in the PNP organization when it comes to crime prevention and community service.
