EVENTS MANAGEMENT PRACTICES IN THE CONDUCT OF “PAHIYAS” FESTIVAL IN LUCBAN, QUEZON

This study aims to know the different event practices in conducting the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon in their management of the town and its people during an important event such as the “Pahiyas”. It is then that it?s leadership?s ability, flexibility,creativity and adaptability are put to tests, not only people are used but its resources as well, to come up with the best of Lucban. The descriptive-normative approach which used face to face interview as the principal methodology in gathering the data was used. Randomly selected informants from different offices of the Local Government of Lucban which are assigned in organizing the Pahiyas Festival. Background questionnaires and guide questionnaires were undertaken to verify the completeness of answers or data. Truly the effort of the organizers were commendable but there is always room for improvements. The organizers must cope up in the very fast changing trends every year to get the attention of tourists and it is in man?s nature that they are never contented and always wanting something new.
