BANTAY ILOG: A RIVER WATER LEVEL MONITORING SYSTEM WITH DESCRIPTIVE ANALYTICS FOR THE MUNICIPAL DISASTER AND RISK REDUCTION UNIT OF SARIAYA, QUEZON
Area of Research
Abstract
Sariaya, Quezon is an area surrounded by bodies of water with several barangays found
within the coastal areas of Tayabas Bay. To regularly monitor the different bodies of water, the
MDRRMO Sariaya, Quezon generates reports using different descriptive methods such as
graphs, charts and interactive tables. The purpose of the research is to create a system for the
MDRRMO Sariaya, Quezon that can assist in regularly monitoring the river water-level sensors
installed at the Bantilan Bridge and the Bugon Bridge. The researchers used an incremental
approach by planning the system, identifying and gathering the requirements for the system,
analysing and designing the output of the system, testing the system, evaluating the system and
lastly, developing the system. The Bantay Ilog is the final output of the research serving as a
river water-level monitoring system that analyses flood vulnerability using descriptive analytics.
