AN EXTENDED ASSOCIATION RULE MINING ALGORITHM FOR CONTROLLING AND MONITORING MEDIA-FILLED BED AQUAPONICS SYSTEM
Area of Research
Abstract
In this study, the proponents developed an extended association rule mining
algorithm that can be used as a control algorithm using actuators which is to control and
maintain the important water parameters in Aquaponics System. Using extended
association rule mining algorithm, it created alerts and actions based on the data
gathered in the sensors within a range of time. The alerts and actions created using the
proposed algorithm were implemented using actuators. The actuators consisted of a
servo motor which is to add water and a relay which was used to switch on and off the aerator. Prototype hardware was developed using Arduino microcontroller with four
sensors such as pH sensor, temperature sensor, turbidity sensor, and dissolved oxygen
sensor connected to gather data from the fish tank. A web application was also created
to monitor the levels and readings of the sensor.
