The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) program provides general accounting education to students wanting to pursue a professional career in Accountancy in general and in Public Accounting in particular. This program involves accounting and financial expertise, business understanding and analytical skills and appropriate business experience that accountants are practical and grounded in operational reality.

Graduates of BSA program should be able to:

  • Program Outcomes
    • Have articulately discuss the latest developments in the specific field of practice;
    • Have effectively communicate orally and in writing using both English and Filipino;
    • Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
    • Act in recognition of professional, social, and ethical responsibility;
    • Preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage” (based on RA 7722);
    • Participate in the generation of new knowledge or in research and development projects;
    • Describe the basic functions of management such as planning, organizing, staffing, directing, leading and controlling;
    • Identify the basic concepts that underlie each of the functional areas of business (marketing, accounting, finance, human resources management, production and operations management, information technology, and strategic management) and apply these concepts to business situations;
    • Select the proper decision tools to critically, analytically, and creatively solve problems and drive results;
    • Work well with others;
    • Manage people and offices;
    • Lead groups and initiate activities;
    • Demonstrate working knowledge in the areas of financial accounting and reporting, cost accounting and management, management accounting, auditing, accounting information systems, taxation and accounting research;
    • Demonstrate self-confidence in performing functions as professional accountant;
    • Employ technology as a business tool in capturing financial and non-financial information, preparing reports and making decisions;
    • Apply acquired knowledge and skills to pass licensure/certification examinations; and
    • Appraise ethical problems/issues in practical business and accounting situations and recommend appropriate course of action that adheres to the professional code of ethics.
