MSEUF provides a neutral platform and "safe" space for open dialogue, fostering understanding among diverse perspectives. This commitment encourages meaningful conversations that address key issues affecting both the university and the broader community.
In November 2023, the university hosted a symposium focused on the role of citizens and institutions in nation-building, discussing strategies for promoting national unity and development. A key feature of the event was a testimony from a former rebel, alias "Ka Lilay," who shared her personal journey of leaving the rebel movement and reintegrating into society.
The event, organized by the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology, offered a platform for former rebels to share stories of struggle, redemption, and transformation. Through open dialogue and personal narratives, the symposium fostered understanding, empathy, and support for individuals seeking to leave behind lives of rebellion and embrace positive change. Additionally, the event emphasized the importance of peace-building, enlightening students about the significance of promoting peace within their communities.
This symposium aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those focused on promoting peace, justice, and strong institutions.
