Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) advanced its pledge to decent work by publicly tracking gender pay outcomes, running transparent merit-pay deliberations, and boosting employees’ financial readiness, concrete steps that align with SDG 8.
MSEUF published its Gender Pay Gap Report, which discloses workforce representation and salary data: women comprise 53% of full-time staff, with a –3% mean and –9% median pay gap—negative values indicating women earned slightly more on average in the latest period. The report also commits to regular audits and annual disclosure to sustain accountability.
To keep awards fair and evidence-based, the Human Resource Department held the annual merit pay deliberation for non-teaching personnel on Sept. 4, 2024, using pre-shared performance evaluations and a panel that included leadership and the union sector; HRD presented allocations based on objective ratings. This transparent process complements the university’s pay-gap tracking by ensuring recognition practices follow clear, equitable criteria.
MSEUF also invested in long-term financial security through HeaRt Talk Episode 2: PERA Orientation – Understanding Personal Equity and Retirement Accounts on Dec. 13, 2024, where the HR and Treasury departments guided 134 faculty and staff on PERA benefits, enrollment, account management, and withdrawals—practical literacy that supports equitable pay outcomes across careers.
By measuring gender pay outcomes, governing merit decisions transparently, and building financial capability, MSEUF demonstrates a coherent approach to SDG 8.2.7 (tracking pay scale for gender equity) as recognized in SDG 8 employment-practice frameworks used in university impact assessments.
Why MSEUF's efforts matters for SDG 8
Tracking and publishing pay-gap data is the foundation for closing disparities; pairing it with fair-pay governance and staff financial readiness turns measurement into sustained progress toward decent work and equal opportunity.
How this supports MSEUF’s mission and values
These initiatives reflect MSEUF’s commitment to Mindfulness, Service, Excellence, Unity, and Fortitude: mindful transparency through pay-gap reporting, service and unity in participatory deliberations, excellence in merit-based recognition, and fortitude in sustaining equitable practices over time.
