In line with its commitment to United Nation Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 7) and local community services, the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF), through its Community Extension Services Office, conducted a seminar in collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Oct. 18.
Serving as the resource speaker, Engr. Mark Nel Inojosa, a Certified Energy Manager shared his expertise on energy management, conservation practices, and sustainable industrial operations. The activity is a part of community service to the law enforcement department of his office. The seminar also aimed to enhance the PNP’s awareness and capacity to adopt energy-efficient practices within their facilities, and daily operations.
The activity focused on key topics such as optimizing generator use, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and applying energy-saving techniques in industrial and institutional settings. Engr. Inojosa emphasized that energy efficiency not only reduces operational costs but also significantly contributes to carbon emission reduction and environmental protection.
This initiative is part of MSEUF’s broader Community Extension Program on Energy Efficiency and Environmental Stewardship, which seeks to extend the University’s technical knowledge and advocacy to partner institutions, industries, and communities. Through these programs, MSEUF fulfills its mission of translating academic expertise into meaningful community impact, particularly in promoting sustainable development and responsible energy use.
Participants from the PNP expressed appreciation for the training, noting that it provided them with practical tools to manage energy more effectively in their offices and field operations. The seminar also underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration in advancing the goals of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act (Republic Act No. 11285).
By continuously engaging with government agencies and community partners, MSEUF reaffirms its role as a leading institution in promoting energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility. The University remains steadfast in its vision to create empowered communities that value energy conservation and contribute to the country’s sustainable future.
