Basic Education students join 'Glow Up 101' psychoeducation program
The Basic Education Guidance and Testing Office launched the first session of its Psychoeducation Program, “Glow Up 101: Exploring the Borders Beyond the Self,” on Aug. 29 at the BED EMRC.
The session gathered selected students from Grades 5 to 12 and focused on developing self-awareness as a foundation for social and emotional growth. The program aimed to help students better understand themselves and strengthen their capacity to manage emotions and relationships.
Academic Support Staff and Registered Psychometrician Sherie Anne Gayeta facilitated the session through guided discussions and interactive activities.
Students reflected on their identity, strengths, values, and areas for growth, and explored how self-awareness supports informed decision-making and positive interpersonal interactions.
A total of 24 students actively participated in written reflection exercises and small-group sharing. Participants described the activities as meaningful and eye-opening, noting improved self-understanding and stronger peer connections.
The psychoeducation initiative forms part of BED-GTO’s ongoing efforts to support students’ holistic development through structured guidance programs.
The program reflects the institution’s commitment to Mindfulness and Service by promoting emotional awareness and student well-being. It also demonstrates Excellence and Unity as the school provides inclusive, student-centered interventions that support holistic growth.
