The Office of Student Affairs and Services of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation launched its first EU-Camp Program for Students with Additional Needs at the EMRC to provide an empowering and inclusive space that supports personal growth and academic confidence, Nov. 14.

OSAS invited Diann Cyrel Laqueo, a licensed professional teacher specializing in Special Education, to facilitate the workshop and guide participants through reflective and interactive activities.

Five students joined the pioneering program, including representatives from the College of Architecture and Fine Arts, the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences and the College of Arts and Sciences.

The workshop featured exercises that helped students build self-confidence, identify strengths and embrace individuality. Facilitators encouraged participants to view personal flaws as part of growth rather than limitations.

“The goal is to help students recognize their potential and feel supported within the university community,” Laqueo said during the session.

Students engaged in open discussions that fostered empathy and mutual support. Participants later shared that the experience strengthened their sense of belonging and inspired them to set personal and academic goals.

Through EU-Camp, OSAS reinforced the importance of inclusive education and affirmed its commitment to creating safe and supportive environments for students with additional needs.

The initiative reflected the University’s core values of Mindfulness, Service and Unity by prioritizing inclusivity and student well-being. It also advanced student-centered and transformative learning by empowering learners to embrace their identities and pursue growth with confidence.

  • SDG 4 – Quality Education: The program promoted inclusive and equitable education for students with diverse learning needs.

  • SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities: The initiative supported equal opportunities and inclusion within higher education.

  • SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being: The workshop strengthened emotional well-being and self-confidence among participants.
