OSAS BED-GTO leads orientation to strengthen school–family partnership

MSEUF’s Basic Education Department conducted an orientation program for students and parents to introduce school policies, services, and core values at the start of the academic year.

The program was hosted by faculty member Michelle Andrea Macalalad and formally opened with a prayer, followed by the Philippine National Anthem and the University Hymn led by the Drums and Lyre Band. The band also performed an intermission number that showcased its musical skills.

Basic Education Principal Reina Pasumbal welcomed the students and parents and thanked them for entrusting the University with their children’s holistic development. She emphasized that education is a shared responsibility between the school and families to ensure students’ academic success and personal growth.

Executive Vice President and Vice President for Academics and Research Benilda Villenas delivered an inspirational message, encouraging students to live out the University’s core values of mindfulness, service, excellence, unity, and fortitude.

Students and parents were introduced to University officials, faculty members, and student service personnel. Jennifer Garcia presented the University’s vision, mission, goals, and core values and explained their role in guiding students’ academic and personal journeys.

To energize the participants, Ian Guiruela, Micah Teoxon, and the University mascot Roonie facilitated a short interactive game. The mascot also entertained the audience with a dance performance, with simple prizes given to participants.

Parents and students were then oriented on the services of the Library, Medical Clinic, Payment Office, and Guidance and Testing Office, including their functions and office hours. Glenn Mendelivar presented the Community Extension Services, highlighting how student participation supports various outreach initiatives. The program also featured a dance presentation and the recognition of top admission test achievers.

Assistant Principal Hiloma thanked the parents for choosing MSEUF as a partner in their children’s education. The orientation concluded with Grade 7 Chief Adviser Melanie Samonte’s presentation on the Educational Contracting Service, where she explained its purpose, requirements, and application process.

The orientation reflects the school’s commitment to Service and Excellence by fostering strong collaboration between the University and families. It also demonstrates Unity and Mindfulness as MSEUF guides students toward holistic development through a supportive, student-centered learning environment.
