The BTS Club formally opened its training program as students participated in an orientation, pinning ceremony, and self-awareness workshop designed to strengthen peer support within the school community, Aug. 29.
Ma’am Reina Pasumbal welcomed all qualified members and emphasized the club’s vital role in fostering a supportive environment that prioritizes student well-being. She noted that each training session would equip members with valuable skills while strengthening collaboration and mutual support.
To build rapport among participants, Sherie Anne Gayeta facilitated a socialization activity titled “Bingo,” where students interacted by asking questions tied to statements on their bingo cards. The activity encouraged meaningful conversations and helped members get to know one another.
Charmaine San Miguel discussed the importance of developing a peer group program, highlighting how peer facilitators contribute to a stronger and more responsive school community. She outlined the key responsibilities and competencies required for the program’s success.
San Miguel later led the Pinning and Oath-Taking Ceremony. After guiding the students through the oath, she congratulated the newly official members and reminded them of their commitment to promoting support and well-being among their peers.
Following a short break, Gayeta conducted the first official training session focused on self-awareness. She emphasized that self-awareness includes embracing both strengths and weaknesses as integral parts of one’s identity. Through guided reflection activities, members explored aspects of themselves and shared insights during the activity synthesis.
The program concluded with an evaluation, where members expressed appreciation for the session. Many shared that they enjoyed the activities, learned new things about themselves, and looked forward to the next training.
The program reflects the school’s dedication to Service and Mindfulness by empowering students to foster a caring and supportive environment. It demonstrates Unity and Excellence as members develop core peer-facilitation skills essential for nurturing a healthy, student-centered community.
