Enverga University expands international quality assurance efforts through AUN-QA program assessment

Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation advanced its quality assurance and internationalization efforts as four academic programs underwent the 513th ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance Program Assessment at the university from April 21 to 23.

As an associate member of the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance, Enverga University participated in the program assessment for Information Technology, Nursing, Tourism Management and Criminology.

Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh of Vietnam and Assoc. Prof. Pakpong Pochanart of Thailand assessed the Information Technology program, while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ornsiri Cheunsuang of Thailand and Dr. Keen Boon Pin of Malaysia assessed the Nursing program.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Minh and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thasaneeya Nopparatjamjomras assessed the Tourism Management program. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakorn Watanachaturaporn and Dr. Nguyen Truong Sa assessed the Criminology program.

Ms. Kodchakorn Phaisitsrisawat of Thailand served as AUN-QA Secretariat, in coordination with Leah Salas, Enverga University acting director of Quality Improvement.

“Through this assessment, Enverga University reaffirms its commitment to quality education, continuous improvement and stronger international engagement,” Assistant to the Vice President for Academics and Research, Dr. Claudia Odette said, during the opening session on behald of University  President/COO Madame Naila Leveriza. 

“The process allows our academic programs to benchmark against regional standards while preparing graduates for wider opportunities in the ASEAN community and beyond.” Dr. Ayala added.

Before the visit, the four programs prepared their Self-Assessment Reports (SAR) and supporting evidence under the leadership of their respective deans: Assoc. Prof. Rodrigo Belleza Jr. for Information Technology, Dr. Maria Corazon Valdeavilla for Nursing, Dr. Maricel Herrera for Tourism Management and Dr. Henedine Lagumen for Criminology. The SAR teams worked with various university offices to complete the required documents and evidence.

During the assessment, the AUN-QA assessors reviewed the SAR documents and conducted parallel interviews with SAR teams, faculty members, students, alumni and employers to deepen the assessment and identify areas for improvement.

Enverga University welcomed the assessors during the formal opening session at the AEC Little Theater on April 21. The first day included interviews with SAR teams, faculty members and students, as well as a campus tour and office visits. The assessors interviewed alumni and employers on April 22 and held clarification sessions with the SAR teams in the afternoon. The assessment concluded with a closing session on April 23.

Enverga University will await the release of the official certification from AUN-QA.
