'Bayanihan sa Enverga' fosters unity through shared meal; marks family week with BESS 2025
Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) celebrated Family Week with “Bayanihan sa Enverga: Salu-Salo (BESS) 2025,” a boodle fight for faculty and staff at the Basic Education Covered Court, Sept. 22.
Office of the Vice President for Administration, through the Human Resource Department (HRD), spearheaded the event to foster camaraderie and strengthen family-centered values.
Each departments also prepared potluck contributions that supplemented the shared meal.
“This activity reflected the spirit of bayanihan and our commitment to unity as a university community,” said Dr. Maria Sylvia Avila, HRD director.
The event formed part of MSEUF’s observance of Proclamation No. 60, declaring the last week of September as Family Week, and Proclamation No. 326, establishing the fourth Monday of September as Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day.
All classes on Sept. 22 were held asynchronously to allow faculty members to participate in the celebration while still facilitating academic sessions.
The celebration embodied MSEUF’s values of unity, mindfulness, and service by encouraging shared experiences that strengthen ties within the university. By integrating Filipino cultural traditions into campus life, the university reinforced its outcomes-oriented education and community-centered approach.
