MSEUF’s SDG best practices presented at HCU Thailand international conference

BANG CHALONG, Bang Phli, Samutprakarn, Thailand — Dr. Felixberto Mercado, dean of the DCAV Research and Knowledge Institute, and associate dean of the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research (IGSR) of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF), presented the University’s best practices aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during the 12th Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) National and International Academic Conference, July 31.

Dr. Mercado represented MSEUF in the session titled “SDG in Action at the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation,” where he highlighted the University’s initiatives under SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Dr. Mercado discussed how MSEUF promotes energy efficiency on campus, strengthens institutional transparency, delivers community-based health programs, supports student employment, and builds international academic partnerships.

Dr. Mercado also shared that MSEUF earned a place in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025, citing the University’s progress in aligning its academic and operational practices with the United Nations SDGs.

The MSEUF delegation also included  Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and assistant to the vice president for academics and research; Dir. Leah Salas, corporate planning and development officer and officer-in-charge of the Office of Quality Improvement; Engr. Roselyn Maaño, director of the Research Publication, Incubation, and Utilization Center;and Dr. Jennifer Reyes, director of the Global Engagement Office.

The presentation formed part of a day-long academic exchange that brought together representatives from over 30 universities and colleges across Southeast Asia to promote research and innovation aimed at social development.
