Enverga Calauag breaks ground on new two-story school building, covered court

To officially begin construction of a two-story school building and a covered court, the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation – Calauag, Inc. held a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, July 25, 

The ceremony took place behind the Barangay Biyan Hall, where Atty. Dario Opistan, MSEUF vice president for administration, welcomed guests and emphasized the value of the project to the local community.

"We believe that when something is God-given, it will truly be granted," Atty. Opistan said in Filipino.

"Despite the recent bad weather, we were given this opportunity today. Like this building, it is a gift from God to bring quality education closer to the people of Calauag." Atty. Opistan added.

University officials and community leaders took part in the ceremonial groundbreaking and laid a time capsule on site. Dr. Alexander Cabales, MSEUF Calauag acting principal and school administrator, gave the closing remarks. 

Dr. Amelita Balagtas, coordinator for affiliate schools, and Emmanuel Landicho, Calauag Public Employment Service Officer (PESO) representing Mayor Rosalina Visorde, also gave brief messages.

Attendees included Hon. Frederick Fuenzalida, Hon. Vina Angelie Hernandez, Helen Esternon, MSEUF VP for Finance Carlito Rodriguez, MSEUF VP for External Relations Celso Jaballa, Amalia de los Reyes, Ar. Raul Villanueva, Engineer Misael Laygo, and other University and barangay representatives.

Officers from the main campus including Engr. Ariel Nicolas and Engr. Marlou Quincena, Mark Gaylord Genovaña and staff from the Educational Media Resource Center, also attended the event.

Rev. Fr. Felix Zoleta led the opening prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine national anthem, while Arby Lagman, Director of the Health, Safety, and AuxiliaryServices Department (HSASD), hosted the program. 

The University said the new facility will help expand its services and improve access to education in the municipality.
