College of Education revives Tribute Concert honoring Doña Rosario Enverga

The College of Education revived its tribute concert for Doña Rosario Lopez-Enverga with a performance titled “Nana Charing: Asawa, Ina, Matriyarka” on April 4, 2025, at the AEC Little Theater.

The event, directed by Dr. Marco Antonio Rodas, honored the life and legacy of Doña Rosario, highlighting her devotion to family, community, and the nation. The tribute featured performances from students, faculty, and alumni through music, dance, and theater.

“This tribute is more than a performance; it’s a reflection of how deeply Nana Charing’s values resonate in the lives of Envergans,” Rodas said.

The program included acts by the MSEUF Concert Singers, Prof. Esperanza R. Maribao, John Joseph Husana, Banyuhay Dance Troupe, Allen Jerhsey de Leon, Deborah Pasamba, Jumeirah Atienza, Lexter Alpuerto, Roscean Squad, Emmanuel Basa, the Dance Sports Team, and Society of Culture, Arts, and Physical Education students. The main performances by Hailey Kate Laqui and Prof. Hubert Loresto received standing ovations from the audience.

“This event reminded us of the importance of heritage and the power of education to preserve it,” said Loresto. “It reflects MSEUF’s identity and the strength of its cultural foundation.”

The College of Education resumed the tribute concert after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The program reaffirmed the University’s commitment to holistic education that integrates cultural appreciation and community engagement.

The event aligned with MSEUF’s mission to promote service and mindfulness through education, its vision to become a globally competitive university rooted in heritage, and its values of unity and excellence.
