CIHTM student wins Flair Bartending Championship at WOFEX '25

Jessalyn Ladesma, a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management student from the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (CIHTM) at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, won the championship in The Philippine Bar Scene – University Flair Challenge at WOFEX (Drinks and Bakes) 2025. The competition took place at the World Trade Center, Mar. 27.

Meviel Khaye Pepito, also from BSHM-CM, placed first runner-up. They competed against 13 participants from 10 universities.

Ladesma and Pepito trained under coaches Ana Luna Bonina and Eimil Hidalgo, with support from barbacks Mc Gyver Guevarra, Irvin Amparo, Arriene Pauline Arandela, and Edward Quing. Assisting them during the competition were Irvin Amparo, Joanne Barcelona, Ivan Naras, Mark Nathaniel Odasco, Darryl Keith Ortega, and Kylene Versoza.

Dr. Maricel Herrera, dean of the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management, recognized the students' efforts.

"Their success reflects their commitment to mastering their craft. The skills they demonstrated in this competition highlight the quality of training at MSEUF CIHTM," Dr. Herrera said.

WOFEX (World Food Expo) is the Philippines' largest and most influential food and beverage trade show, gathering industry professionals, suppliers, and enthusiasts. The event features competitions, seminars, and exhibitions showcasing innovations in food service, culinary arts, and hospitality.

The Philippine Bar Scene – University Flair Challenge is one of its highlights, providing a platform for aspiring bartenders to demonstrate their technical skills and showmanship in flair bartending.
