Enverga University kicks off 78th foundation anniversary with Thanksgiving Mass
Highlighting the significance of education, love, and the Institution’s enduring legacy, Enverga University began its 78th Foundation Anniversary celebration with a Thanksgiving Mass, led by Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Maaño, university chaplain, who presided the Eucharistic Celebration, Feb. 10.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Maaño emphasized that the University is a blessing, shaping generations of students and faculty giving thanks for the gifts of knowledge, service, and community.
"We give thanks for the gifts of knowledge that enlighten us, the spirit of service that guides us, and the sense of community that strengthens us." Rev. Fr. Maaño said.
University Collegiate Student Council (UCSC) President Gianne Pagana, delivered the First Reading, while Jasper Tabernilla, The Luzonian’s editor in chief read the Responsorial Psalm. John Rover Sinag, the University’s Web Content & Digital Engagement Officer, led the Prayers of the Faithful.
During the Liturgy of the Eucharist, Mr. Arby Lagman, Health and Safety Officer, and Engr. James Louie Meneses of the College of Engineering offered lighted candles followed by Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, with the flowers. Mr. Celso Jaballa, Vice President for External Relations and Atty. Dario R. Opistan, Vice President for Administration, carried the cruets and Ciborium respectively.
Academic deans and student leaders participated in the ceremonial offering. Among them were Ar. Jennifer Sanchez of the College of Architecture and Fine Arts, Dr. Flormando Baldovino of the College of Business and Accountancy, Dr. Henedina Lagumen of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology, Dr. Divina Glifonea of the College of Education, Engr. Cielito Maligalig of the College of Engineering, and University Collegiate Student Council Vice President Nicole Alissandra N. Ello.
The Thanksgiving Mass marked the start of the weeklong festivities, bringing together faculty, students, and staff in gratitude and unity.
