Enverga University achieves #610 global rank for sustanaibility efforts — UI GreenMetric '25

Marking another milestone in its growing commitment to sustainable campus development and global benchmarking, Enverga University ranked 610 in the world, 351 in Asia, and 28 in the Philippines in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Ranking during the official awarding ceremony held Dec. 5 at the National Chi Nan University, Taiwan.

Enverga University improved its performance, rising from last year’s 768 to 610 globally, from 29th to 28th in the Philippines, and from 423rd to 351st in Asia.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedicated work of the UI GreenMetric Committee, led by VP Celso D. Jaballa and Dr. Jennifer Reyes, together with the Criterion Heads: Dir. Leah Salas for Setting and Infrastructure; Dir. Arby Lagman for Waste Management; Dr. Renato Vergara for Water Conservation; Engr. Cielito Maligalig and Engr. Ariel Nicolas for Energy and Climate Change; VP Carlito M. Rodriguez for Transportation; and Engr. Roselyn Maaño and Dean Rodrigo Belleza Jr. for Education and Research, Asst. Prof. Rover Sinag for website data uploading and sustainability report.

Representing the University was Engr. Ariel Nicolas, director of the General Services Department and a member of the University UI GreenMetric Comittee, focused in the Energy and Climate category.

“Thank you to our University management for entrusting me with this opportunity to represent MSEUF. We remain hopeful and determined to achieve an even stronger standing in the rankings. May we all continue working together toward a more sustainable Enverga University.” Engr. Nicolas said.

The three-day international gathering opened with a campus tour and networking reception on Day 1. Day 2 featured opening performances, keynote messages from host officials and the UI GreenMetric chair, and presentations on Taiwan’s climate governance, carbon reduction targets, and SDG-aligned campus initiatives.

The event also included media interviews, an MOU signing ceremony, poster presentations, and roundtable discussions focused on integrating SDGs into curriculum design and university governance.

The awarding program announcing the 2025 global rankings served as the highlight of Day 2, recognizing participating universities for their sustainability performance while day 3 concluded with a post-conference tour for delegates.

The recognition affirms the University’s commitment to Mindfulness, Excellence, and Service by embedding sustainability into institutional operations and academic culture. It also reflects Unity and Fortitude as MSEUF collaborates with global partners to enhance governance, climate action, and environmental stewardship.
