UB Brahmans, EU Wildcats face off in goodwill match for Intramurals '25 opening; exchange symbols of shared values
Enverga University and the University of Batangas strengthened their partnership through a basketball friendship game between the UB Brahmans and EU Wildcats during the opening ceremonies of Intramurals 2025 at the Enverga University Gymnasium in Lucena City, Nov. 6
University of Batangas President Madame Lily Marlene Hernandez-Bohn,together with UB Athletic Director Christopher Quizon, Sports Coordinator Henry Gonzales, and Enverga University officials — Vice President for Administration Dario Opistan, and Vice President for Finance Carlito Rodriguez — exchanged tokens of goodwill before the game, symbolizing mutual respect and collaboration between the two institutions.
Enverga’s token, a kiping from Lucban, Quezon, paid tribute to the Pahiyas Festival. “The festival celebrates a bountiful harvest, which for us also symbolizes a fruitful partnership,” VP Opistan said.
“We at Enverga University give thanks for this friendship. Both our universities share the same values — offering quality private education and fostering community development in our respective provinces," VP Opistan added.
In return, the University of Batangas presented a balisong, representing the pride and craftsmanship of Batangas.
“The balisong embodies precision, resilience, and strength — traits that reflect both our institutions,” UB President said.
“Enverga was founded in 1947 and UB in 1946 — we are not just neighbors but partners in shaping future leader.” Madame ernandez-Bohnadded.
The event was made possible through the leadership and support of Chairman and CEO Wilfrido Enverga, whose vision includes promoting holistic student development through athletics, culture, and co-curricular activities. The friendship game officially set the tone for a week of student-centered competitions and activities under Intramurals 2025.
The friendly match highlighted not only competitive spirit but also camaraderie, unity, and sportsmanship among student-athletes from both universities. Spectators, composed of students, faculty members, and staff, cheered on the players as the game served as one of the main highlights of the Intramurals 2025 opening program.
