Enverga athletes haul 23 medals at 2nd provincial invitational taekwondo tournament

Showcasing disciplined forms and decisive sparring, Enverga University student-athletes captured multiple podium awards at the 2nd Gov. Angelina “Doktora Helen” Tan Invitational Taekwondo Tournament at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City, Oct. 11.  

Enverga University results included golds from John Ivan Baltazar (BPEd 1), John Winson Cusi (HUMSS 12-A2), Gabriel Giancarlo Ballesteros (STEM 12), Chareyza Erlieana Garcia (HUMSS 11-A3) and Misha Pauleen Baltazar (HUMSS 12-A2); silvers from Matthew Segui (STEM 12) and Leah Jane Fernandez (HUMSS 11-A3); and bronzes from Duane Yzekiel Rosales (BS Architecture 1) and Vince Lawrence Nobrera (BS Information Technology 1).

Basic Education Division standouts delivered big totals: Andrea Mae Batocabe (Grade 7) won three golds; Isha Mae Luena (Grade 7) earned two golds; Nash N’zo Tarray (Grade 6) claimed a gold, a silver and a bronze; Agatha Pearl Umbrete (Grade 4) took a gold, a silver and a bronze; and Ruhan Mattheuz Tamayo (Grade 5) secured two bronzes.

“Our jins stayed composed, trusted their drills and finished strong—this haul reflects their grit and respect for the sport,” coach Shiela Tarray said.
