ASEAN Engineering Register honors CENG faculty as ASEAN Engineer
Engr. Eric Tamondong earned the status of ASEAN Engineer during the 2024 Special AER Conferment Ceremony held Dec. 12 at the Century Park Hotel, Manila.
The ASEAN Engineering Register (AER) approved the conferment, which was endorsed by the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations (AFEO) Governing Board.
The Philippine Technological Council, in partnership with the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, organized the event where it featured speakers, including Engr. Larry Cruz and Engr. Florencio Berenguel, alongside leaders from engineering organizations such as Institute Of Integrated Electrical Engineers Of The Philippines (IIEE), Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE), Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP), and Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE).
College of Engineering Dean Engr. Cielito Maligalig expressed pride in Tamondong's achievement. "This recognition reflects the competence and dedication of our engineering professionals. t also inspires our students to strive for excellence and uphold international standards."
Engr. Tamondong acknowledged the honor and its significance. "Being conferred the ASEAN Engineer status is a milestone in my career. It motivates me to contribute more to the engineering profession and collaborate with my peers in the ASEAN region to address pressing challenges," Tamondong said.
The ASEAN Engineer title signifies recognition of professional engineering qualifications and contributions across ASEAN member countries. Tamondong’s conferment highlights his expertise and commitment to advancing engineering in the region.
