MSEUF supports DSWD’s citywide search for Exemplary 4Ps Children '24
The Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) supported the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the 2024 City Search for Exemplary Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Children in Lucena, Sept. 9 at the Dr. Tobias Y. Enverga Sr. Alumni Center.
The DSWD initiated the annual Search for Exemplary 4Ps Children to highlight children’s achievements in education, community involvement, and personal development. The program follows guidelines under Memorandum Circular 37, series of 2020, promoting health, nutrition, education, and children’s rights.
MSEUF contributed by providing the venue and logistical support. The event involved city links, social welfare assistants (SWAs), and a screening committee. The committee consisted of Dr. Milagrosa A. Lawas from MSEUF’s Community Relations Department, Miss Erika K. Del Mundo from the Lucena City Social Welfare and Development Office, and Miss Azenith A. Ramos from the Lucena City Health Office.
Ten participants were evaluated by the screening committee. Mr. Neil Arjay D. Alpuerto, Pantawid Pamilya Team Leader, presented certificates of appreciation. The winners were as follows:
- Winner: Andrea P. Macalinga (Brgy. Cotta)
- 1st Place: Charles Matthew H. Iglip (Brgy. Market View)
- 2nd Place: Princess Jobelle O. De Leon (Brgy. Ibabang Dupay)
Judges shared insights on the children’s achievements, focusing on personal growth and community engagement. Mr. Darold M. Jopson, City Action Team Leader, delivered the closing remarks.
This activity supports the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), the DSWD and its partners, like MSEUF, help ensure that children from low-income families have access to the resources they need for a brighter future.
- SDG 1: No Poverty The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) helps reduce poverty by providing financial assistance and ensuring that children from low-income families have access to education, health services, and better opportunities for the future.
- SDG 2: Zero Hunger - By focusing on health and nutrition, the program ensures that children receive the necessary support for proper growth and development, addressing malnutrition and hunger in vulnerable communities.
- SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being - The program emphasizes the importance of healthcare access for children and their families, contributing to better health outcomes and overall well-being.
- SDG 4: Quality Education The 4Ps program ensures that children stay in school and perform well, promoting access to quality education as a key factor in breaking the cycle of poverty.
- SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities - By targeting the most vulnerable sectors of society, the 4Ps program helps reduce inequality, providing children from disadvantaged families with equal opportunities to succeed.
