CIHTM students win awards at 4th national tourism, hospitality skills olympics
Students from the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (CIHTM) of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) earned multiple awards during the 4th National Tourism and Hospitality Students’ Skills Olympics held at the University of Baguio, Mar. 1
Ayehlah Chezka Nañez, Nessenda Gracia Oca, and Danecel Joy Villapando won gold in the Tourism Quiz Bee under the coaching of Mr. Denmark Catan. Measiah Mae Katayosi and Ma. Stanley Shearl Isidro received the highest gold award in the Flight Attendant Showmanship category, with Nelren Franco Matibag and Aries Jasper Peñarubia serving as alternates.
Cassandra Silang secured a bronze medal in the Travel Article Feature Writing category, while Novaene Guerrero earned silver in Local Virtual Tour Guiding. Both students trained under Mr. Catan.
Raphael Leuk Cuario and Bianca Sheanelle De Guzman competed in Travel Infographics, coached by Ms. Blessie Reign Parraba and Mr. Catan. Jan Arvin E. Jardin represented the university in Travel Photography with Mr. Catan as coach.
“These achievements show the hard work and commitment of our students and mentors,” Mr. Catan shared. “We continue to focus on molding future professionals who will bring pride to MSEUF and contribute meaningfully to the tourism industry.”
Parraba also expressed gratitude for the students’ efforts. “Their performance reflects not only their skills but also their drive to embody excellence and professionalism, which are values we uphold at CIHTM and at MSEUF,” Ms. Parraba said.
- The competition aligned with MSEUF’s mission to produce graduates with research-based knowledge, leadership skills, and professionalism. It supported the university’s vision of becoming a globally competitive institution and reinforced the core values of mindfulness, service, excellence, unity, and fortitude.
- This participation also contributed to the advancement of several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening academic and practical learning, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by preparing students for industry readiness, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by building connections through national competitions.

HIGHEST GOLD. Measiah Mae C. Katayosi and Ma. Stanley Shearl B. Isidro, with alternates Nelren Franco M. Matibag and Aries Jasper P. Peñarubia, secure the Highest Gold award in the Flight Attendant Showmanship category under the guidance of coach Denmark H. Catan.
