The College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management conducted a series of On-the-Job Training (OJT) visitations from February to April 2025 at St. Jude Coop Hotel and Event Center and 2205 Hotel in Lucena City.

Faculty members visited 4th-year Tourism and Hospitality Management students assigned to both establishments as part of their internship program. The visit aimed to assess students' performance, reinforce professional values, and ensure that host training institutions complied with the University's academic standards.

“OJT visitations are crucial in monitoring the progress of our students and maintaining strong ties with industry partners,” said Dean Maricel Herrera. “We make sure our interns are not only learning but also representing the University well.”

The visitation team observed the students’ workplace competencies and gathered feedback from supervisors. Students expressed their appreciation for the experience and mentorship provided during the internship period.

“Our immersion helps us understand the demands of the hospitality and tourism industry,” said one of the student interns. “The visitation reminded us that the University is with us every step of the way.”

  • The activity aligned with the University's mission to deliver instruction and training that are responsive to industry needs. It supported MSEUF’s vision of producing globally competitive professionals grounded in the core values of Mindfulness, Service, and Excellence.
