CCMS secures free DataCamp access for Cyber Envergans
The College of Computing and Multimedia Studies (CCMS) secured free access to DataCamp's Classroom feature for its students through the initiative of Mary Meliza Parcon, one of the CCMS faculty members handling data science courses.
"The program was formally approved in October 2024, which reinforces CCMS’s dedication to skills-based education, ensuring students are prepared to meet the challenges of the modern workforce," Parcon stated.
With access to over 450 courses on DataCamp, students can enhance their skills in data science and analytics. The courses cover a range of topics, including programming languages like Python and R, data visualization, cloud computing, database management, and generative AI. This variety of topics ensures that learners can find courses that match their interests and career goals.
Furthermore, free certifications are also provided to serve as proof that learners have acquired the necessary skills in their respective fields. This adds another layer of credibility to the learners' achievements and can be used to demonstrate their competencies to potential employers.
"The addition of DataCamp’s resources will not only enrich the college’s curriculum but also provide valuable hands-on learning experiences. By engaging with real-world data and projects, students will be better equipped to apply their knowledge in practical settings. This approach aligns well with the university’s commitment to outcomes-based education, where the focus is on developing skills that are directly applicable in the workforce." Assoc. Prof. Rodrigo C. Belleza Jr., Dean of the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies shared.
"This partnership with DataCamp marks another step forward in CCMS's efforts to provide practical, cutting-edge education to its students, preparing them for successful careers in the fast-evolving field of technology." Dean Belleza added.
