This study aimed to determine the impact of rape cases among women’s desk investigators, providing a comprehensive exploration of the emotional, personal, and professional dimensions of their experiences. The investigative process was outlined, encompassing initial reporting, medical intervention, legal encoding, and the specific challenges encountered in handling rape cases, particularly those involving child victims. The emotional toll on investigators emerged as a central theme, with a focus on the diverse range of emotions witnessed, especially when perpetrators were family members. The study illuminated the intricate balance required in managing personal relationships, revealing the potential for accidental neglect of family bonds due to the demanding nature of handling rape cases. Through personal narratives, the study unveils the emotional complexities faced by investigators, including the struggle to maintain objectivity and professionalism in cases involving familial wrongdoing. The research underscores the emotional resonance experienced when dealing with cases concerning child victims, emphasizing investigators’ profound commitment to justice and accountability for the vulnerable and innocent. in response to the findings, the study advocates a set of comprehensive recommendations. these include the implementation of robust mental health support programs tailored for Women's Desk investigators, public awareness campaigns aimed at fostering understanding of the challenges faced by these investigators, advocacy for legal reforms safeguarding the rights of both survivors and investigators and the development of gender-responsive training programs.
