Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the role of Pagbilao Mangrove Experimental Forest in achieving sustainable tourism in Pagbilao, Quezon. This employed a descriptive survey method to analyze the role and significance of the mangrove forest in achieving sustainable tourism in Pagbilao. The researchers developed a researcher-made survey questionnaire in google form that was based on the parameters given in the statement of the problems. The researchers administered the survey questionnaire through different social media platforms such as email and messenger in the municipality of Pagbilao, Quezon. The respondents were composed of 100 residents of Brgy. Palsabangon, Pagbilao, Quezon, where the Pagbilao Mangrove Experimental Forest is located, 25 barangay and local government officials of Pagbilao, and 25 volunteers of the Pagbilao Mangrove Experimental Forest. Frequency, percentage, weighted mean, Likert Scale, and the one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) are the statistical tools and measurements that were employed in this study. The findings of the study conclude that the local residents, barangay officials, and government officials are aware of the services, issues, and challenges that the Pagbilao Mangrove Experimental Forest provides in achieving sustainable tourism. Cooperation between the relevant people is necessary to achieve sustainable tourism. The results were used to propose guidelines as a significant tool to encourage people to become more responsible in the tourism industry. Thus, the major final output is recommended for validation.
