Problems Encountered by Selected Teachers in the Assessment of Online Performances

Abstract

The problems they encountered in the assessment of online performances, as well as its impact on their online teaching, were discovered in this research. The target beneficiaries of this research were approximately 30 teachers, 9 administrators, 1,028 students, 2 schools and 1 researcher. The researcher used the descriptive type of method to gather the relevant data. As quantitative, the researcher used statistical treatment to analyze and interpret the data. The researcher found out that based on the findings; majority of the respondents are female with a percentage of 70% and age range at 21-30 years old. In terms of teaching experience, most of the respondent’s experience range at 1-5 years with a percentage of 87% out of 100%. Internet connection and other technical problems, power interruption and students plagiarized with a mean weight of 3.37 which fall under Strongly Agree are the respondent’s choice as problems encountered in the assessment of online performances. And the respondents are Strongly Agreed that the impacts of these problems encountered to their perspective in online teaching which motivates and encourage them more to work and love their profession and it has a mean weight of 3.33. The researcher recommends administrators to always help teachers in order to improve the teaching and learning process in online learning, to teachers should pay attention to their mental and physical health issues, to students must learn to deal with new teaching styles and techniques, to schools to provide the needs of teachers, such as new instructional materials, reliable internet connectivity, generators, and modules as needed, and lastly to the future researcher that they can explore in some deeper parts of the study where they can study focusing in the mental health of the teachers after encountering these problems and also they can avoid the limitations where the teachers are located in rural areas where mostly all problems indicated are they encountering, try to look on the other side.
